Industrial Epoxy How To

While there are many different options for doing custom flooring projects and numerous professional company’s around the United States, applying your own epoxy flooring can cost saving and self-fulfilling fitting to your own style and pace.

Before starting any flooring project you must make sure your area is cleaned to the best of your ability. If a stain is to difficult to remove use a sander or high powered grinder to help smooth out the floor and get fully prepared to start the epoxy coating process. Make sure your floor is swept and vacuumed to remove any and all particles that were on the floor, including sand, dirt, and drywall.  
When your floor is prepped and ready to go, Prime the floor with a water-based epoxy or water-based stain. (We prefer the water-based stain/primer) Apply the primer as you would paint and allow the area to dry for several hours before the epoxy goes on. Start rolling on the epoxy using a rolling pin on a stick and a splash pan evenly over the entire floor and allow to dry for 5-6 hours.
When the epoxy has dried its time to apply the epoxy finisher, the sealer. Apply the sealer to the floor as you did the epoxy. Allow the sealer to set over the next two days.
